Experience the wide world of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) at the Main Library this spring, as we once again partner with Oak Park Elementary School District 97 and the Oak Park Education Foundation for STEAM Fest.
STEAM Fest 2024: Thursday, April 18, 6-7:30 pm
Families with students in grades K-8 are invited to explore hands-on stations set up throughout the Main Library:
- Have fun with robots like Dash, Ozobot, and Sphero.
- Explore coding with Bee Bots, Osmo, and Hour of Code.
- Program Edison, a Lego-compatible robot, in the Creative Studio.
- Try crafting and building in the Acorn Lab, located in the Children’s Services area.
- Create art in the Children’s Services area.
There are so many STEAM activities to explore, and kids can try them all or choose a few! Pick up a passport to keep track of all of the activities you complete.
Additionally, D97 families are invited to celebrate hands-on activities centered on One Book, One District. This year’s pick: A Rover’s Story—written by Chicago area author Jasmine Warga—tells the story of Resilience, a rover who is excited about his first journey to Mars. Learn more »
Registration for this event is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome!
