Introducing adult summer reading!

By Rose Barnes, Health & Senior Services Librarian

It’s May and the library is getting ready for summer reading! As a child and teen, I always loved the summer reading program at my local library, and I am so happy to announce that this year the library has expanded the summer reading program to include adults and older adults!

Find Your Voice” and join a community of readers in our fun new summer program for adults. Using the online platform Beanstack, you’ll track your reading, complete activities, and earn badges for chances to win gift cards! No library card necessary.

The summer reading program will run from June 1 to August 15. I certainly plan to sign up on the first day and track all of my reading and attended events throughout the summer. I hope you’ll join me!

How can I participate?

In addition to completing fun activities that explore the library’s resources, you can earn badges by tracking your reading and attending programs and events throughout the summer.

Our We Suggest team is always creating new lists of the latest titles to check out. Here are a couple of my recent favorites:

What prizes can I win?

For every badge you earn, your name will be added to a drawing. Five lucky winners will receive a $100 Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce gift card for local businesses.
