On Wednesday, June 19, all library locations will be closed for Juneteenth. This national, state, and Oak Park holiday celebrates African Americans’ freedom from enslavement in the United States.

- Film Screening: Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts, Tuesday, June 18, 1 pm. Acclaimed documentary that explores the remarkable experiences of African American soldiers who fought for their country while facing discrimination at home.
- Juneteenth Jam, Tuesday, June 18, 2-5 pm. A vibrant opportunity for middle and high schoolers to learn, connect, honor, and celebrate the significance of Juneteenth in American history.
