Updated for spring: Early Bird Learning videos: A virtual tutorial for babies, toddlers & preschoolers

By Children’s Librarian Shelley Harris

The world is waking up in spring! Warm, rainy days bring growing flowers, birds fly home, and the sun shines longer each day. Let’s celebrate with songs, activities, and nature play!

The changing seasons always offer great learning opportunities for kids, who are already asking why all of the above is happening.

Caregivers and parents, we’ve heard from you that you love seasonal materials, so we’re offering you something new: a collection of Early Bird Learner videos focused on spring, winter, and autumn, with songs, science and nature activities, science, and book recommendations. Press the play button to get started!

Speaking of Early Bird Learners, did you know that we’ve created more than 300 videos since March 2020?! That’s an overwhelming number of videos to scroll through to find what you’re looking for! So, we’re looking at new, more user-friendly ways to organize videos so you can find the topics you need when you need them.

More collections will be coming, but right now, our new collections are:

  • Learning about ourselves and others
  • Fun and learning in all four seasons
  • Virtual field trips
  • Especially for babies and toddlers

What kinds of video topics do you want to find most easily? Email me at shelleyh@oppl.org, and I’ll build that collection for you. Happy Fall!
