At its September 22 meeting, the Board of Library Trustees approved the following resolution: “Election Day, November 3, 2020, shall be observed by the Oak Park Public Library as a holiday for all library employees and the library shall be closed for all services except as are required to operate the library’s physical locations as polling places in the Village of Oak Park. This resolution applies only to calendar year 2020.”

This resolution came in response to the General Assembly of the State of Illinois’ amendment of the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act (10 ILCS 5/2B-10 new), declaring that this year only, Election Day, November 3, be observed throughout the state as a holiday with the closure of government offices.
