In March 2021, the Board of Library Trustees voted to approve the Oak Park Public Library’s first stand-alone Anti-Racism Strategic Plan. This multi-year plan was created to address internalized, interpersonal, institutional, and structural racism in both internal and external practices at the library.
To stay accountable to the work outlined in that stand-alone plan—as well as report progress on work related to an existing strategic plan focused on engagement, learning, and stewardship—the library has two end-of-year reports for 2022.
Both reports showcase work that shared the information, services, and opportunities that fulfill Oak Park’s aspirations as well as progress toward achieving our vision to empower every voice in our community.
Thank you for reading, and for using your public library!
