Storytime Descriptions
BUSY BABIES for children up to 15 months, with a caregiver
Boost your baby's brain power with an introduction to simple booksplus
rhymes, songs and hands-on playtime.
WONDERFUL ONES for children 12 to 24 months, with a caregiver
Created especially for energetic 1s, this storytime includes short books,
lots of fingerplays, and fun props.
TERRIFIC TWOS for 2-year-olds, with a caregiver
For curious 2s, this storytime nurtures pre-reading skills through stories,
music and movement.
PRESCHOOL FUN for children 3 to 5, with or without a caregiver
Through longer books, concept games, and ABCs, children will build important
skills for school in this stimulating session.
BOOK BUZZ for children in kindergarten through second grade, with
or without a caregiver
Stories and crafts are matched in this interactive session which features
longer books and art activities.
DONUTS WITH DADS for children 2 to 6 years, with a caregiver
Hey big guys! Bring your little guys and gals to storytime and enjoy books,
songs, and snacks in a relaxing environment with other dads. (Moms are
also welcome for sweets and stories.) Thanks to Red Hen for the sweet
donations!
FAMILY OPEN for children 2 to 6 years and their siblings with
a caregiver
There's something for everyone In this lively storytime that's full of
favorites.
OPEN PLAYGROUP for children up to 24 months, with a caregiver
This play group includes toddler toys, board books and music. Have fun
and socialize with other children and caregivers.
PAJAMA TIME for children 2 to 6 years and their siblings with
a caregiver
Wear your PJs and bring a stuffed friend to this cozy evening storytime.
Storytime Guidelines
1. To attend most storytimes at the Oak Park Public Library, you must
have an Oak Park Public Library card. (See above for the storytimes
which are open to nonresidents.)
2. Storytime is drop-in, but room capacity is limited. Pick up
Daily entry tags at the Children's Desk. First come, first served.
3. Storytimes are 20 to 30 minutes long. Please arrive earlylatecomers
might not be admitted.
4. For the Library to present enjoyable and successful programs, we must
limit the number of attendees in a storytime. Due to high demand, we
ask that you only attend one program each week.
5. Please keep conversations and distractions to a minimumsnacks,
toys and cell phones should be put away.
6. Have fun, sing along, and check out some books to take home!
