The data is clear—playing games energizes the mind, body, soul. For older adults, playing games improves mood, facilitates connection, and keeps the mind sharp. Plus, it’s just fun! Get your game on at the Oak Park Public Library this summer.

Here are some ways to incorporate games and play into your day.

The Library of Things has games for check out with your Oak Park library card. Try your hand at bocce ball, badminton, frisbee, or just go fly a kite!

Play games at home or join us at the library

Free online games through Hoopla

Get one week of online gameplay using only one Hoopla borrow with a Hoopla BingePass. There are thousands of games to choose from right at your fingertips, and new games are added daily to both BingePasses:

Scrabble Club
Tuesday, July 14, 1 pm, Main Library

Join us for a friendly game of Scrabble. All skill levels and ages are welcome.

Puzzle Swap
Saturday, October 3, 1-3 pm, Main Library

Mark your calendars! Puzzles are a great way to spend an afternoon. The library hosts a puzzle swap multiple times a year, so you can bring in the old and walk out with some new ones.
