Borrow Devices to Use Anywhere

Oak Park Public Library cardholders can get a mobile hotspot mailed to their Oak Park address. They can also borrow hotspots, laptops, Chromebooks, iPad Mini 2 devices, an LCD projector, and more— to pick up at the library or in a secure outside locker available 24/7. Get started below!

Borrow a mobile hotspot

These mobile WiFi hotspots are devices that can connect WiFi-enabled smartphones, tablets, and laptops to the internet from any location within Sprint’s 4G or T-Mobile coverage areas. One hotspot connects up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices to the internet, and a fully charged device lasts about six hours.

  2. Or contact us online or by calling 708.383.8200 and library staff will assist you.
  3. Then complete the Device Checkout Agreement Form, which includes more details about loan limits, returns, and replacement costs.
  4. We will email or call you to verify your mailing address before we mail you an available hotspot.
  5. If you would prefer to pick up your hotspot, let us know. We will email or call you to let you know how to use a secure locker in the Main Library Lobby to pick up your hotspot.
  6. Devices can be checked out for 3 weeks, and renewals are possible.

  5. Chromebooks, laptops, iPad Mini 2 devices, and Playaway Launchpads can be checked out for 3 weeks, and renewals are possible. The LCD projector can be checked out for 1 week, with no renewals.
