There are lots of great ways to use your card! Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
Log in & get started
- Click Log in near the top right of any page at oppl.org and enter your:
- Library card number (the 14-digit number under the card’s bar code)
- PIN (usually the last four digits of the phone number on your account)
- Download library apps
- Set or update how you receive library account notifications and alerts
- Learn about loan periods, limits, renewals, returns, and fees
- Get your library card account number
- Reset your PIN

Know more about your card
Most Oak Park library cards never expire. Cards for educators and businesses expire after one year but may be renewed.
- Have a card with a printed expiration date (issued before March 20, 2012)? You can renew it at any library location with your photo ID and proof of Oak Park address.
- Lost or stolen card? Contact us so we can mark it as lost, which will protect you if it is misused. Show your ID at any library location to have a replacement card made.
- Moved out of Oak Park? Contact us so we can update your library account.
- Have a valid Chicago Public Library or other Illinois library card? You may have reciprocal borrowing privileges here. Registration is required on your first visit and must be renewed yearly.
