Spanish Language Storytime with Miss Kathy in the Storytime Room

TUESDAYS (no storytimes Tuesday, July 4)

  • 10 am: Shake, Rattle & Read (ages 0-5), Lindberg Park, 1150 N. Marion
  • 11 am: Baby Lapsit (nonwalkers ages 0-1), Main Library Storytime Room
  • 1:30 pm: Supported Storytime (children with disabilities ages 3+, siblings welcome), Main Library Storytime Room

Which storytimes are best for you and your little ones? See descriptions—including recommended ages (with caregiver support)—below!

  • Baby Lapsit (nonwalkers ages 0-1): Short books are paired with songs and rhymes that are modeled to introduce pre-literacy skills, designed for one-on-one interactions between caregivers and babies who are not yet walking.
  • Cuenta Cuentos con Kathy/Spanish Storytime With Kathy (ages 3-6): Acompañanos para una media hora de cuentos en español con Kathy Valdivia. Ven a escuchar historias, canciones, y baile! Este evento ayudará con el crecimiento cognitivo y fomentará el amor por la lectura y el aprendizaje./Join us for a Spanish language Storytime facilitated by Kathy Valdivia. Come hear stories, songs, and dancing! 
  • Shake, Rattle & Read (ages 0-5): Get ready to sing, dance, and listen to great stories!
  • Supported Storytime (children with disabilities ages 3+; siblings welcome): Enjoy fun picture books, songs, and fine and gross motor movement activities, structured with visual schedules. Sensory supports available.
  • Young & Restless (ages 0-2): Enjoy short books paired with songs and rhymes that are modeled to introduce pre-literacy skills.

Special storytimes

Stories & Nature Crafts for Preschoolers

Join us for stories, music, songs, and nature-themed crafts in this storytime devoted to preschoolers. We will have a fun time exploring books and art together in this hands-on interactive program. For ages 3-6 and caregivers.

German Language Storytime

Wednesday, June 21, 11-11:30 am, Oak Park Public Library, Main Library. Come learn German with us in an interactive experience. There will be singing, dancing, and a story! Be prepared to munch crunch your way through felt foods of all kinds in your imagination with The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Best for ages 2-5. Register now »
