Exhibiting Art in the Library

The Oak Park Public Library welcomes local artists to exhibit their work and engage with the community. Our commitment to equity and anti-racism guides access to opportunities and spaces. We invite artists of all backgrounds and mediums to submit a proposal to exhibit their work in a library space designed to showcase wall-mounted paintings, photographs, and two-dimensional art.

Submissions are reviewed by a cross-departmental committee representing diverse employment classifications and organizational levels. The library will contact selected artists to coordinate a one-month exhibition of their work. The selection process is guided by multiple factors:

  • The library’s commitment to equity and anti-racism;
  • Prioritization of local and Oak Park affiliated artists;
