Friends Book Fair

The 54th Friends Annual Book Fair will be held at the Main Library from Friday, July 10, through Sunday, July 12. See below for donation and shopping details.

Accepted: Books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, and games.

Not accepted: Magazines, textbooks, Reader’s Digest back issues, records, and VHS tapes.

Carry-in: Main Library Lobby Community Space

May 30-June 30: Bring your donations into the Main Library Lobby Community Space during Main Library open hours

Drop-off: Open Books bins

June 1-30: Drop donations anytime in the Open Books bins in the alley north of the Main Library. Donations will be shared with the Friends to sell at the fair (with Open Books’ permission).

Drive-up: Main Library loading dock

Saturdays only, May 30-June 27, 9 am-3 pm: Drive up and drop off donations at the Main Library loading dock.

The loading dock is accessed through the west alley between the library and First United Church of Oak Park. To keep traffic moving, drivers are asked to enter from North Grove Avenue and to exit onto Lake Street (see map at right).

Volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles at the loading dock.

Shop

  • Friday, July 10, 9 am-5:30 pm
  • Saturday, July 11, 9 am-4:30 pm
  • Sunday, July 12
    • 12-2 pm: Free items for fair volunteers only
    • 2-4 pm:
      • Nonprofits, teachers, area Little Free Library Stewards, and fair volunteers are invited to select free items. Please bring proof of educator status and/or employment.
      • Everyone is invited to fill up a grocery bag with their choice of items for just $10 a bag.
