Share your gently used books & materials year-round
Two Open Books collection bins are in the alley just north of the Main Library building at 834 Lake St. Access the alley by driving south on the 100 block of North Grove Avenue until you reach the cul-de-sac, then turn west (right).
A few things to note:
- If you have too many books to fit in the bin: Contact Open Books pickup service. Any items left outside or next to the bins will not be accepted.
- Not accepted: Magazines, textbooks older than five years, and general reference materials such as encyclopedias or books in poor condition.
- Temporary closures: Bins are unavailable during periods when our Friends of the Oak Park Public Library collect for the Annual Book Fair.
