We’ve been watching, listening to, and celebrating our community’s efforts to safely socially connect while properly physically distancing. Local grassroots efforts and others we’ve seen include:
- Singing from our porches and balconies »
- Clapping in unison to celebrate the commitment of all our first responders »
- Family-friendly neighborhood walks, when a block or community’s residents place certain fun art or items in their front windows for a scavenger hunt-like experience. In fact, here’s one we’re taking part of now: the Oak Park Teddy Bear Hunt (check the Main Library first-floor windows facing Scoville Park).
For more fun and something to look forward to in the days ahead, we’re sharing this library Neighborhood Window Walk and related crafts schedule. Links to a lot of creative project ideas are listed below.
Hope you have fun! And if you’re feeling inspired, share your walk photos on Instagram and Facebook!
