- From the Village of Oak Park Health Department on July 28: “Public health officials recommend wearing masks in indoor public settings. With another 25 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported over the past week, local public health officials are recommending that everyone, including those fully vaccinated, consider wearing a mask in public indoor settings. The new cases reported today by the Oak Park Department of Public Health likely include some breakthrough cases among fully vaccinated individuals. While the breakthrough cases typically are mild, do not require hospitalization and often are asymptomatic, officials say these individuals still can spread the highly contagious Delta variant, an important consideration since children less than 12 years old are not yet eligible to be vaccinated.
