LETAB launches ‘The Essentials Drive’

This message was originally sent to library staff from our Teen Services Librarian Alex Gutierrez. Thanks, Alex, for capturing the spirit of the LETAB Essentials Drive (which continues through May 16) and what it provides to our community! Donations will benefit three local charities: Sarah’s Inn, New Moms, and Housing Forward.

Hello everyone,

As some of you may have already noticed, our very own Leading Edge Teen Advisory Board (LETAB) has chosen to host what they are calling “The Essentials Drive” to collect resources from anyone willing to contribute.

There are two bins set up at the Main Library, located across from our front-facing service desk (under the monitors that advertise upcoming programming/events).

Donations that are acceptable include toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, feminine hygiene products, new socks or undergarments, tissues, hand wipes/body wipes, and deodorant.

It’s amazing to work with such an inspiring group of youths; they’re constantly thinking about the well-being of others and the energy they bring to the library is a blessing within itself.

If students like this are our future, it’s a bright one indeed.
