Donate new socks at the Main Library in Socktober

Help us warm souls AND soles by donating new socks all October to benefit the clients of Housing Forward.

And during the last week of October, we’ll be collecting donations of warm kids’ clothing and gear for Cradles to Crayons.

October 1-31: New socks for Housing Forward clients

Socktober
A trunkful of Socktober 2018 donations headed to Housing Forward

Did you know that socks are consistently among the most requested items at shelters?

You can help by donating new socks in adult sizes all October at the Main Library.

Warm, thick socks made of natural materials are especially appreciated, such as wool and cotton athletic and hiking socks, says Librarian Genevieve Grove, who coordinates the Socktober donation drive at the library.

The donation bin will be located at the first-floor Main Library Children’s Services desk.

This will be our fifth year participating in the Kid President-inspired Socktober. In both 2018 and 2019, our community donated well over 200 pairs of socks each year to help fellow community members in need.
