only will you view the Library's permanent
art collection but you will learn to interpret art for yourself
and for others. Art Appreciation Tours, led by trained volunteer
docents, will touch on the elements of art, as well as the
backgrounds and inspirations of some of the artists represented.
Schedule a Tour
Docents lead free one-hour tours of the Main Librarys

About the Library's Art
The Library's permanent art collection
has been purchased with $50,000 raised by the Bricks
for Art Program at the Main Library and from proceeds from
the Gala Preview
Party. A majority of the art pieces were created by local
artists, including Nancy Fong, Jonathan Franklin, Tia Jones,
and Tom Palazzolo. Learn and see more at an Art Appreciation
Tour!
A Great Place to Be!
The Main Library was cited by
USA Today as one of the "10
Great Places to Find a Nook and Read a Book." NPR book
commentator and author Nancy Pearl noted, "Not only is
there a dedicated art gallery which has monthly displays of
works by local artists, there are splendid examples of public
art throughout the building - from quilts to sculptures to stained
glass."
