Simple Searching: Searching Subject Directories

When you type words into Yahoo!'s search box and click search, Yahoo! searches for the words you typed in 3 places:

• Category words: These are the words that appeared as we browsed Yahoo! to find Gene Hackman websites (e.g. entertainment, actors and actresses). Yahoo! will find any categories that match the words you typed.
• Names of Websites: Yahoo! will also search for the words you type within the names of the websites it has collected.
• Descriptions of Websites: As you saw when browsing Yahoo!, each website gets a brief write up (normally less than 10 words). Yahoo! will search for your words within these descriptions.
