For babies and toddlers up to 36 months, with a caregiver. We bring out the toys and music, and provide an indoor play space for you to enjoy. This fun playgroup is an outlet for energetic toddlers and gives you and your child an opportunity to meet other families. Open to all.

Dahl-apalooza: The BFG

School's Out! GreatWorks Theatre Company presents a captivating show from Roald Dahl's classic book. When orphan Sophie is snatched from her bed by a Giant, she fears that he’s going to eat her. Although he carries her far away to Giant Country, the Giant has no intention of harming her. He is The Big Friendly Giant! Best for ages 5-12. Terrific Tales

For 2's and 3's, with a caregiver. Created especially for curious little kids, we bring stories to life by sharing delightful books, friendly puppets, music, and movement games. This class encourages positive early learning experiences through reading, singing, and playing. OPPL card required.

Doctor Who Anniversary Party

Fans of all ages are invited to celebrate the Doctor's 50th anniversary with us! The fun includes an episode screening courtesy of BBC Home Entertainment, button making, a costume contest, Doctor Who games of all sorts, and snacks. Are you ready to write your name in Gallifreyan? StoryWalk at Cheney Mansion

In collaboration with the Park District of Oak Park, the Oak Park Public Library StoryWalk® at Cheney Mansion features "Oh, No!" by Candace Fleming and Eric Rohmann.

The month-long event kicks off with an opening reception and refreshments on Saturday, Sept. 7, and runs through Oct. 5 (whenever the grounds are open) at the Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave., Oak Park.

Parent Workshop: Creatively Overcoming Communication Barriers

Is communication challenging for your child with special needs? Join Oak Park speech-language pathologist Dr. Jill E. Senner and our own Shelley Harris for a show and tell workshop highlighting creative adaptations for communication, especially in areas difficult for augmentative communication users, such as in the pool, garden, bed and more. Dr. Senner, founder of Technology and Language Center, Inc., has almost 20 years of experience working with with children with complex communication needs. Register beginning October 7.
