May 2001 events in the Main Library Project

Interior Designers Selected for Library
In May, an award-winning, multi-discipline interior design firm, Eva Maddox Associates, Inc. of Chicago was selected to design the interior of the new main library building. Eva Maddox and members of her staff began meeting with library staff to determine space and equipment needs within the new library building. They also held focus group discussions with both teens and adults in the community. Eva Maddox Associates, Inc. will be responsible for selecting color schemes, floorcoverings, and equipment for the new, three-story main library building. They will put special emphasis on areas like the lobby, meeting rooms, children's storytime room and exploratorium, and the silent reading room. Eva Maddox has been in business more than 30 years, with more than 70 awards for her work. Her creations have been featured in 16 books and more than 60 magazines and journals.
