Building On Schedule, Permit Process Continues
The formwork for the concrete walls is prepared. (Click for larger image.)The Meyne Company is making steady progress and the building is on schedule. Installation of sixty caissons, 45-foot deep concrete tubes on which the foundation of the new building will be set, was completed. Only three or four of the caissons encountered obstacles (i.e. rocks). The Meyne Company erected concrete forms and the majority of the basement walls and columns were poured. A “full” building permit is still in the process of being obtained. To obtain this permit plans must pass review in several areas including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
