August 2001 events in the Main Library Project

Interior Designer, Eva MaddoxInterior Designs Presented for Feedback from the Community
Eva Maddox and her design team presented interior designs for the new main library building at a Public Update Meeting on August 15, 2001. Their plans include using two tones of wood (dark and light), paint tones in a wide range of blues and greens, terrazzo floor in the lobby and a new recycled rubber flooring throughout much of the building. After holding focus group meetings with Oak Park citizens young and old, they see the key descriptive word for the Library being "Access." They plan to incorporate the words "Discover," "Participate," and "Connect" throughout the building.
